Olive Oil PEG-7 Ester is derived from a process known as transesterification, where pure olive oil is combined with PEG-7, a synthetic humectant and solvent. Transesterification is an eco-friendly chemical conversion where fatty acids such as triglycerides react with alcohol and other esters to form a new compound that is water soluble despite being made from oil. In skin care products, olive oil PEG-7 ester works as an emollient, emulsifier, as well as a mild, secondary cleansing agent and is considered safe for use on skin.
Alpha-tocopheryl acetate (ATA) is a specific form of vitamin E that’s often found in skin care products and dietary supplements. It’s also known as tocopheryl acetate, tocopherol acetate, or vitamin E acetate. Vitamin E is known for its antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help to protect your body from damaging compounds called free radicals.
Sodium Phytate is a fully neutralised (pH of ~12) sodium salt of Phytic Acid, a saturated cyclic acid. It can also help moisturise, improve skin elasticity, and balance oily skin.
In addition to its chelating properties, Sodium Phytate has other benefits, such as moisturises skin, improving skin elasticity, normalising oily skin, may help to reduce pore size, lightening skin and may help improve the appearance of cellulite.
